ISO / TR 16738:2009 " Fire-safety engineering - Technical information on methods for Evaluating and behavior movement of people"
How people behave when a fire breaks out inside a building? To answer this question comes to the aid of a new ISO technical report for the design of buildings more secure with easy escape routes to reduce exposure to flames and heat. The ISO / TR 16738:2009 Fire safety engineering-Technical- Methods for Evaluating information on behavior and movement of people "provides information on methods currently used to assess the engineering aspects of fire safety in the design phase of construction, including structures such as tunnels, underground complex, vessels and vehicles. The document provides advice on assessment and management of the behavior of people, particularly of the behavior in case of fire, as well as evaluating the sensitivity of the people caused by the effects of exposure to fire and heat.
For all scenarios, it is important to be able to assess the likely behavioral responses, both in the overall design, and in the assessment of fire risk. In particular, ISO / TR 16738:2009 provides guidance on: •
the timing of the evacuation of people from the building, whether it be for people not directly exposed to fire both of the exposed persons in time needed to escape (Required Safe Escape Time-RSET-) are affected by the smoke and the intensity of the heat;
• evaluation of the time available for evacuation (Available Safe Escape-Time-ASET) in relation to the capacity human to resist fire and heat.
The technical report ISO / TR 16738:2009 was developed in the technical committee ISO / TC 92 "Fire safety" SC 4 "Fire safety engineering".
A livello nazionale i lavori sono seguiti dal GL "Ingegneria della sicurezza contro l'incendio", Gruppo di lavoro misto tra le commissioni UNI Comportamento all'incendio e Protezione attiva contro gli incendi.
